Introducing Cultura, a new series featuring arts and culture programming in Trattoria Milano, our newest restaurant that pays homage to the great city of Milano. Trattoria Milano brings the feel of Milano to Toronto through a focus on art, which guests will experience throughout the restaurant’s eclectic atmosphere; culture, highlighted through ongoing event programming; and food, with menus featuring iconic Milanese dishes like Risotto allo Zafferano and Ossobuco, plus signature cocktails inspired by iconic Milanese bars. Cultura will feature regular talks from leaders in the worlds of art and culture, combining an exchange of ideas over classic Northern Italian dishes and drinks, in a space designed to feel as if you're dining in the heart of Milano. Tuesday, March 17: Toronto-based, contemporary abstract artist, Peter Triantos, known for his visually striking and colourful paintings, will showcase a selection of his work as he leads guests in an engaging discussion, talking about his inspiration behind his work, his current exhibit at the Columbus Centre, and answer any questions during a dedicated Q&A. Created in partnership with Villa Charities, this event will provide a snapshot to a larger exhibit Triantos is hosting at the Joseph D. Carrier Art Gallery in the Columbus Centre until April 5. Thursday, March 26: In partnership with The Power Plant Contemporary Art Gallery, Assistant Curator Justine Kohleal will engage in conversation with Leeroy New, the Pre-Party Artist for Power Ball 2020, the gallery’s annual fundraising gala and one of Toronto’s most influential art events.
